Motor Vehicle Services Capped Fees.

Most of the Motor Vehicle services such as Licenses, Registration (License Plates) Abstracts, Searches, etc are capped fee services.   Agents may sell for less, but you will never pay more for these services at Registry Agents across Alberta.  Please call us to find out more.

Unfortunately, we can only accept cash or debit cards for the capped fee Motor Vehicle transactions, with apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Graduated Driver’s License Program

May of 2003 marks the launch of the GDL program for new Alberta Drivers. 

This new program places certain practical and reasonable limits on new drivers, and adds additional testing periods for re-classification of licenses. 

Zero alcohol tolerance, specific demerit suspension rules, and number of passengers are issues that are restricted and examined.

Vehicle Identification Numbers

IIn 1980, all Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) were standardized to be exactly 17 digits iin length. The 10^th digit from the left is the YEAR designation of the vehicle.  Please refer to the following table to confirm the year of the vehicle in question:
