Agent and Office

Agent for Service (Alberta Requirement)

An Agent for Service is specifically required for business registrations in Alberta. This individual or organization acts as the official point of contact between your corporation and the Government of Alberta, receiving legal documents and official correspondence on the corporation’s behalf.

If you are located in Canada and choose to incorporate in a province other than your home province, an Agent for Service is generally not required — except in Alberta. In Alberta, you must appoint an Agent for Service and provide an Address for Service within the province.
